Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program
You can get your windows done.Is there grants in Ontario, Canada, where you can get help with getting new windows?
Yes. In Ontario, there are programs that can help offset the cost of replacing windows, but they are usually energy-efficiency rebates, not a free “window replacement grant.”
The main program currently is:
Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program
Eligible homeowners can receive rebates for energy upgrades, including ENERGY STAR® certified windows and doors.
The window rebate is generally $100 per eligible window/door opening under the program.
You typically need to complete a home energy assessment before starting the work, and windows may need to be combined with other qualifying upgrades (such as insulation or air sealing) depending on the program rules.
Older programs like the Canada Greener Homes Grant are no longer accepting new applicants, although existing approved projects may still be completed.
A good approach:
Do not order windows first.
Book an approved energy assessment.
Confirm which windows qualify.
Complete the work and submit for the rebate.
